At
the entrance gate to Great East Standen Manor there is a large pond, so sit
here for a while and feed the ducks. A bridle path leads to a network of
footpaths and bridle paths that run across the Island. There is an abundance of
wildlife - buzzards, owls, red squirrels, herons, badgers, stoats and foxes.
The cottage has its own garden and patio area with a barbecue, where you can
sit and hear nothing but the birds. The cottage is an ideal holiday haven for
bird watchers, photographers, painters as well as walkers and lovers of the
peace, beauty and tranquillity of the countryside.
This
interesting thatched self catering cottage was restored during 2006 & 2007
using traditional methods and materials such as thatch, oak joinery, lime
plastering to the highest standards, with the accent on character.
The
holiday cottage is south facing and very light and airy. It is cool in the
summer and cosy in the winter.
