Penlan Bach lies equidistant from the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Hill walking and mountain biking enthusiasts will find a wealth of unspoilt tracks and footpaths to explore - both gentle and challenging. Guests who are keen fishermen will enjoy fly fishing on the River Usk for trout or salmon.

The cathedral town of Brecon, and Abergavenny both have theatres and regular markets, and there is an abundance of traditional pubs in the area serving real ale and good food. Both Abergavenny and Brecon have excellent Golf courses for all types of players.
