The
Solway Firth is a tidal estuary at the southern tip of Scotland and Carsethorn
is one of few vantage points that can see both Scotland and England together.
The
cottage built in 1842 as a fisherman’s cottage, also used to be one of the 2
shops in the village, hence the name and is now a B&B.
The
cottage has private beachside garden and summer house with direct access onto a
quiet beach where the views are stunning, which makes the Old Shop an ideal
location for people with pets.
The
local pub The Steamboat Inn is only a few hundred yards away to provide good
food and drink in the evening. A regular bus service connects the village to
Dumfries and Dalbeattie along the beautiful Solway Coastal Route.
