The building used to be a piggery and a shippon and there was evidence that farm workers and/or servants had once lived over the piggery. The self catering property has been tastefully and comprehensively converted to provide a self catering cottage.

There are many local footpaths and access to the canal towpath through the farmyard gate. Stretching for over 40 lock free miles, the Lancaster Canal winds its way from Tewitfield in the north to Preston in the south. This particular stretch is very attractive with views across the fields over Hollowforth Swing Bridge, one of only two swing bridges on the canal.

The centre of Preston is less than five miles away to the south, a surprisingly short distance given the peace and tranquillity of our location, very handy for both business and leisure visitors. Myerscough College is even closer to the north of us.
