Swaffham Prior is situated 8 miles from Cambridge, 5 miles from Newmarket and 12 miles from Ely. The village is serviced by a number 10 bus to Cambridge that runs every hour. There is a nice pub that serves food – The Red Lion.

There are many historic houses in the village and is known locally for having two churches in one church yard.
