Charlie Wilcox: This gorgeous 5 star quality listed fisherman's cottage sits on Polperro's outer harbour wall and over the beach. On sunny days watch from your windows as the fishermen land their catches or prepare for sea, as they have done for 100s of years. Now one of Cornwall's most popular self catering holiday cottages, it has a large drawing room on the middle floor, with low timber beams, a log fire and formal dining area.

Lanlawren Cottage: Lanlawren means Valley of the Foxes. This stunning isolated house, set in beautiful gardens, is along the Coast between Polperro and Fowey and just a mile as the crow flies from the sea. Lanlawren is spacious with 4 beds and 3 bathrooms. The dining-room has an inglenook fireplace with wood burner.

For twenty years, we had hoped that one day, we would be able to buy this idyllic garden cottage. It has a wonderful, sunny South facing aspect, no neighbours, total privacy and the sea just over the hill. The Cottage is very old with a wealth of features. The staircase is lit by a full height Cathedral type window. The old timbers were salvaged from an old church and a mill.

There are a good range of restaurants to suit everyone. You can go out in the morning and get fresh bread and croissants. You can even get breakfast to save doing that big fry up. In season there are 2 fish stalls. There are 2 little supermarkets, baker, greengrocers, post office, chemist, electricians and not to mention all the clothes and some very good gift shops.
