At the heart of The Sun is a seriously good pub! It has bags of character with exposed beams, stone walls & floors and a bar top made from local Brathay slate. The welcome is always warm, likewise the”Victorian” range which helps to heat the water for the whole place.           

We don’t do trendy food with fancy names that leave you guessing what you’ve ordered. Our aim is good honest, quality food that offers great taste and value.
 

Our bedrooms don’t have huge flat screen TV’s* with satellite and computer games (well we do have discreet TVs with Freeview), but if you need something to look at, gaze out of the windows - we do recommend the wonderful views!

People meet for all kinds of reasons, some happy, some not. We have a very good bar, a very comfortable lounge and a very good reputation for the quality of our buffets. Sometimes we put those to good use for quieter moments such as funeral teas when reflection and memories are the order of the day. At other times we are asked to host business meetings, parties, family gatherings or meetings of special interest groups.
