Taigh Ailean (pronounced Tie Allan) is Gaelic for Allan’s
house. Allan McLeod chose this remote lochside location for his croft and over
a century later we have chosen Portnalong as our home because of its peaceful
beauty.
Taigh Ailean accepts dogs; you can view this Hotel on our
website www.weacceptpets.co.uk by

Situated on the end of the Minginish Peninsular with
stunning views of Loch Harport, Macleod’s Tables and The Cuillins, the Taigh
Ailean Hotel is the perfect base for dog walking, climbing, photography or just
pottering about the island enjoying the scenery, crafts and coffee.
Our area is rich with wildlife. Taking a gentle stroll
along the Loch you might see otters and sea eagles. Driving to Portree or
climbing the Monros you could spot a golden eagle. At night, when the skies are
clear, the stars are amazing and if you’re very lucky you might see the
Northern Lights to make your stay even more special.
Our hotel rooms and bar are dog friendly with towels for
muddy paws, homebaked dog biscuits and a resident dachshund to tell you about
all the good walks, best beaches and interesting sniffs.
