The holiday cottage has been completely refurbished and
comprises a fully fitted dining kitchen, a lounge with multi-fuel stove, a
porch which leads to a mature, enclosed private garden, one double bedroom, one
twin, a bathroom with both bath and shower, and a separate shower room.
The village of Braemar has a long and interesting history
dating back to the 11th century. It is home to the famous Braemar Gathering and
Highland Games which is attended by the royal family who holiday nearby at
Balmoral Castle. The village is situated only 8 miles north of Glenshee, the
largest ski centre in Scotland.
Braemar is bordered by the three estates of Invercauld,
Mar Lodge and Balmoral, each of which provides an excellent range of outdoor
pursuits. The scenery is breathtaking as the area is surrounded by mountains,
the rivers Dee and Clunie, pine and birch woods and heather-clad moorland all
of which contribute to the wide range of wildlife including red squirrels,
siskins, long-tailed tits, crossbills, woodpeckers, red deer and roe deer.
