park nestles in a quiet valley next to a stream, near the towering Golden Cap
cliffs (the highest point on the south coast of England with fantastic
panoramic views) and has a range of accommodation to suit everyone.
The
park is ideally situated for walking and rambling over the World Heritage
Jurassic Coastline and a perfect base for exploring the unique and unspoiled
West Dorset countryside. The park is just 150 metres from the beach and the
South West Coast Path runs right past the entrance to the park!
The
area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast due to its unique
insight into the earth’s geological history – this status puts it on a par with
the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef as one of the natural wonders of
the world and of international importance. It is not just the coast however
that offers beautiful landscapes and places to visit. The whole area is a
designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) due to the landscapes
distinctive character, so head inland and enjoy some beautiful walks in the Dorset Countryside and Marshwood Vale.
